Dairy Matcha Popsicles
Things you’ll need:
- Matcha green tea powder – 2 teaspoons
- Honey – ¼ cup
- Kiwi – 1
- Dairy milk – 1 cup
- Fresh creme – ½ cup
- Pure vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons
Step 1. Blend the ingredients in an electric blender
- Pour 1 cup of dairy milk into the blender.
- Spoon ½ cup of fresh crème into it.
- Pour in ¼ cup of honey.
- Cut a kiwi in half and scoop all of its flesh into the blender with a spoon.
- Add 2 teaspoons of matcha tea powder.
- Add in 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract as well.
- Put the lid on and blend the ingredients until it’s smooth and frothy.
Step 2. Freeze the blended mixture in popsicle molds
- Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.
- Insert the individual lids with built-in handles into the molds.
- Pop the tray into the freezer for about 4 hours or until the popsicles are completely frozen.
- If your popsicle molds don’t have built-in handles, you can also use generic popsicle sticks. Freeze the mixture for 2 hours before gently inserting the sticks in the middle of the molds. Freeze for another 3 hours or until completely frozen.
Step 3. Release the popsicles from the molds and enjoy
When completely frozen, extract the popsicles from the molds and enjoy them before they melt.
Vegan Matcha Popsicles
Things you’ll need:
- Coconut milk – 1 cup
- Matcha green tea powder – 1 teaspoon
- Confectioner’s sugar – ½ cup
Step 1. Combine the ingredients in a glass pitcher
- Pour 1 cup of coconut milk into a glass pitcher. You can also use homemade coconut milk for this recipe.
- Add 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder to it.
- Add in ½ cup of confectioner’s sugar as well.
Step 2. Whisk the ingredients
- Whisk the contents with a handheld wire whisk to blend the ingredients completely. You can either use a manual or an electric whisk for this job.
- Whisk until the ingredients become well blended and frothy.
Step 3. Freeze the mixture in popsicle molds
- Pour the popsicle mixture into molds.
- Insert the individual lids with built-in handles into the molds.
- Put the molds into the freezer.
- Freeze for about 4 hours or until completely frozen.
- If you’re using generic popsicle sticks, freeze the mixture for 2 hours before gently inserting the sticks in the middle of the molds. Freeze for another 3 hours or until completely frozen.
Step 4. Release the popsicles from the molds and enjoy
Firmly holding onto the handles, gently pull the popsicles out of the molds and enjoy.
Tips
- You can use your choice of fruit for flavoring the popsicles. Watermelon, bananas and blueberries are some options.
- The texture of different fruits will affect the texture of the popsicle mixture and, hence, the freezing time.
- Almond milk can be used as an alternative to coconut milk in the vegan recipe. Almond milk will also give a different flavor to your popsicles.
- Always fill the popsicle molds leaving ¼ inch of space at the top, as the liquid mixture will need space to expand.
- Place the popsicle molds at the very back of the freezer for faster freezing.
