Method 1: Spooky Oranges
Sugary delights are passé. Welcome your guests with refreshing and tangy cute little orange monsters. Even if you find yourself artistically challenged, you can easily warm up to this Halloween delight.
Things you’ll need:
- Oranges
- Permanent marker
Single-Step Method: Draw scary faces on the oranges

- Use a permanent marker to draw googly eyed and scary faces on each of the oranges. That’s it!

Method 2: Banana Ghosts
Another healthy option for Halloween treats is banana ghosts. Not only will they prevent you from eating unhealthy processed sugar, they’ll also be a welcome treat for those on a diet.
Since bananas have a tendency of turning brown when exposed to air, it is best to just get things ready and make them when your guests arrive.
Things you’ll need:
- Peeled bananas
- Chocolate chips
Single-Step Method: Make faces on banana slices with chocolate chips

- Slice a handful of bananas in half crosswise to create a flat base so you can stand them up.
- Insert chocolate chips on each banana slice to make the ghost’s face, as shown in the image above.
- Stand the bananas up on coasters and serve.

Method 3: Ghost Lollypops
Ghostly lollypops are among the cutest Halloween treats that you can give to trick-or-treaters. While the rest of the recipes are meant for healthy munching, this one will indulge your sweet tooth. Also, making these is a great way to involve the kids in the festivities.
Things you’ll need:
- Round lollypops
- Paper towel
- Quarter-sized cutouts of paper towels
- Permanent marker
- Tiny rubber bands
- Thin ribbon
Step 1. Wrap a lollypop with paper towels

- Place a quarter-sized paper towel in the middle of a full-size paper towel. The quart-sized piece will help hide the color of the lollypop.
- Place the lollypop in the middle and bundle up the towel around it.
- Secure the bunch with a rubber band.
- Repeat the process to make as many lollypop ghosts as you desire.
Step 2. Draw on the eyes and decorate with ribbon

- Use a permanent marker to make two dots that serve as eyes. Use just the tip of the Sharpie to make the eyes, as pressing it too hard will make the ink bleed.
- Wrap a small piece of ribbon over the rubber band to serve as a bow.
Your ghost lollypops are ready to serve.

Method 4: Severed Finger Hot Dogs
If you’ve been racking your brain over what to serve as quick finger food for Halloween, look no more! What can be creepier and grosser than serving severed fingers sitting in a pool of blood? Go ahead and try it out.
Things you’ll need:
- Hot dogs (chicken, beef or pork)
- Hot dog buns
- Tomato ketchup
Step 1. Cut hot dogs in the shape of severed fingers

- Use a small paring knife to slice off a small chunk of the hot dog near its tip. This will give it a look of a nail bed.
- Cut off the other round end completely.
- Make 2 or 3 slits below the nail bed to serve as knuckles.
- Repeat this with each hot dog.
Step 2. Put some ketchup on the bun and place the hot dog finger in it

- Make a slit in each bun to stuff it with the hot dog.
- Slather a good amount of tomato ketchup on the inside of the buns.
- Place a hot dog in each bun and your bloody finger snacks are good to serve.

Method 5: Goth Lemonade
If you’re looking for extra Goth this Halloween, that’s exactly what you’ll get with this recipe. It’s simple everyday lemonade with a dark twist – activated charcoal. Apart from turning your lemonade black, the activated charcoal will also detox your body. You’ll need some inner cleansing after hoarding up on unhealthy foods, and this lemonade will do just that.
Note: Use only the edible activated charcoal for this recipe. Also, do not consume this drink if you are on any kind of medication.
Things you’ll need:
- Ice cubes
- Activated charcoal – ½ teaspoon
- Honey – 1 teaspoon
- Lemon – 1
- Chilled water
Step 1. Combine lemon juice, activated charcoal and honey in a serving jar

- Slice a lemon in half. Use a lemon squeezer to squeeze the juice of both halves into a serving jar.
- Add ½ teaspoon of activated charcoal. You can also use activated charcoal capsules. Just break open 1 or 2 capsules and dump the contents in the jar.
- Add 1 teaspoon of honey.
- Mix everything together.
Step 2. Add ice cubes and chilled water and serve

- Fill up the serving jar with chilled water and drop in a few ice cubes.
- Your goth lemonade is ready to serve.

Method 6: Apple Teeth
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that we saved the best for last. These unsightly grins made with apples and almonds will surely be a hit among teenagers. They also have the goodness of peanut butter that makes these Halloween treats hard to resist.
Apples turn brown pretty fast, so make a fresh batch once your guests arrive.
Things you’ll need:
- Thin apple slices
- Peanut butter
- Almonds (cut in half lengthwise, then in quarters crosswise)
Single-Step Method: Put peanut butter & almonds between 2 apple slices

- Smear a good thick layer of peanut butter on a slice of apple.
- Place another apple slice over it to make a sandwich.
- Put a row of almond pieces between the 2 slices, with the white part of the almond facing out.
- Press the slices together to secure the almond pieces in place.
- Your apple teeth are ready to serve.

Tips
- To add sweetness to the apple smiles, you can use marshmallows to make the teeth instead of almonds.
- You can use stevia or maple syrup instead of honey in the Goth lemonade.
