If you’re an avid DIYer, you’ve probably tried your hand at DIY homemade soaps. Not only are handmade soaps free from unwanted chemicals, but they are also budget-friendly. They are great for indulging in some self-pampering or giving away as personalized gifts to friends and family.
Since you use soap daily, it needs to be gentle on your skin, yet strong enough to cleanse away dead skin cells and impurities. Your best bet in this respect is goat milk soap.
Goat milk contains essential fatty acids and triglycerides that help deeply cleanse and moisturize your skin. It is rich in antioxidants and has been touted as an excellent free-radical fighter to prevent skin aging. Goat milk also contains vitamins A, B, C and E and minerals like zinc, iron, and copper that nourish your skin.

Its rich fat content also makes goat milk an excellent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent to keep skin troubles at bay.
These beauty benefits are reason enough to give DIY homemade goat milk soap a try. To enhance the effectiveness of goat milk, you can combine it with other skin-friendly ingredients that will stay suspended in the soap base and work together to give you flawless skin.

Method 1: Goat Milk, Oatmeal & Honey Skin-Softening Soap
Harsh weather and environmental pollution can take a toll on your delicate skin, leaving it dull, dry and itchy. A combination of goat milk with oatmeal and honey can work wonderfully in relieving skin irritation and locking in moisture.
The oatmeal along with goat milk helps slough off dead skin cells, and the saponins in oats help cleanse the skin. The fatty acids in goat milk then deeply moisturize the fresh layer of skin. The honey works as a humectant to seal the moisture into your skin and keep it supple longer.
Things you’ll need:
- Goat milk melt-and-pour soap base (moisturizes and cleanses skin) – 4 tablespoons
- Honey (acts as a humectant) – 1 teaspoon
- Oatmeal (soothes skin irritation) – 1 tablespoon
Step 1. Melt the soap base in the microwave

- Put 4 tablespoons of the goat milk soap base in a microwave-safe glass cup or bowl.
- Microwave the soap base on high for 30 seconds.
- If it hasn’t melted completely, microwave it on high in 10-second intervals. Stir it after every 10 seconds to dissolve the soap evenly.
Step 2. Add the oatmeal and honey to the soap base

- Add 1 tablespoon of oatmeal to the melted soap base.
- Add 1 teaspoon of honey as well.
- Stir well to blend the ingredients.
Step 3. Pour the blend into a mold & let it solidify

- Pour the mixture into a silicone mold, and let it sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- When completely solid, pop the soap out of the mold.
- Your DIY soap is ready to use. You can also wrap it in wax paper and store it until needed.
