How many times has it happened that you are into your beauty routine and your kid can’t stop pestering you with questions about why you’re putting food on your face instead of eating it? Then when you painstakingly explain it to them, they want to try it on themselves? At that point, you don’t have a choice other than just surrendering to them.
Now the task is to make sure that they don’t apply what you’re using for the sole reason that your skin is different from theirs. You’ve got adult skin that can put up with various ingredients applied topically, but your child has very young, soft and sensitive skin. So, you’ll have to be very careful in choosing what face mask to whip up for them and make a kid-friendly face mask.
In truth, children don’t need a facial mask, because they already have such flawless skin. However, teaching kids early on about how to take care of themselves the natural way will help them lead a healthy and natural lifestyle as adults. Besides, it’s a great way to spend quality time with your children.
Here are seven recipes you can use to spend a relaxing spa day with your little ones.

This is a fun face pack because it’s made with cocoa. The best part about all the face packs in this article (except Method 7) is that they are safe if ingested accidentally (and intentionally too!).
Cocoa is a good source of antioxidants, and the heavy cream will load moisture into the skin, making it soft and supple.

Method 7: Mud Face Mask
We all love the smell of that wet mud, but we can’t vouch for the taste. Mud or clay face packs absorb the excess oil production, which causes the sebum to build up and can eventually lead to acne. It rids the face of all its impurities.
Rose water also gives a soothing experience for the skin, moisturizing it deeply.
Things you’ll need:
- Clay – 1½ tablespoons
- Ground oatmeal –2 tablespoons
- Rose water – enough to make a paste
Single-Step Method: Mix all the ingredients & apply the face mask

- Rinse it off with water.
Tips for making kid-friendly face masks
- You can replace rose water with any other wetting agent like honey, water or cooled green tea.
- You can add 2 or 3 drops of lavender or chamomile essential oil of therapeutic grade.
