Method 1: Hydrating Hair Mask
Your hair tends to become dry and rough due to exposure to pollution, the sun, or other environmental conditions.
The rosewater in this hydrating hair mask helps reduce the appearance of hair damage and restores moisture. In fact, it prevents your hair from becoming brittle by deeply moisturizing it.
The coconut oil in the recipe is a natural source of a fatty acid called lauric acid, which is extremely nourishing and moisturizing to the hair and skin. For some people, it even helps prevent protein loss from their hair.
The scalp tends to become dry when there is insufficient production of the natural oil called sebum, which can result in thin and brittle hair.
Ylang ylang essential oil stimulates the sebaceous glands and improves the production of sebum, which keeps your hair conditioned and healthy.
The carrot essential oil is rich in vitamins A and E, which stimulate hair growth, make your hair soft and shiny, and protect your hair from environmental damage in general.
It lubricates the outermost layer of the skin and hair and replenishes moisture.
Things you’ll need:
- Rosewater (hydrates dry hair) – 3 tablespoons
- Extra-virgin coconut oil (moisturizes the hair cuticles) – 2 tablespoons
- Carrot seed essential oil – 2 drops
- Ylang ylang essential oil – 2 drops
Step 1. Combine the four ingredients in a bowl
- Pour 3 tablespoons of rose water into a bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin coconut oil to it.
- Add 2 drops each of ylang-ylang essential oil and carrot seed essential oil to the bowl.
Step 2. Whisk the ingredients well & apply the hair mask
- Blend all the ingredients well using an electric hand whisk.
- Partition your hair into sections and apply the hair mask on the scalp, one section at a time.
- Once you’ve covered your entire scalp, wipe any excess mask onto the roots of your hair and run a wide-toothed comb through your hair.
- Wrap your hair into a bun and cover it with a towel or an old T-shirt. Let it sit for a minimum of 3 hours. You can leave it in longer, as needed for moisturizing your hair.
- After the recommended time, remove the towel and massage your scalp and hair.
- Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
- Spray some rose water on your damp hair and let it air-dry.
Use this remedy once a week to get shiny and silky soft hair.
Method 2: Scalp Itchiness & Dandruff Soother
Dandruff is a common hair problem that many people face, especially during the winter season.
Rosewater has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, which destroy the dandruff-causing microbes on the scalp and loosens up any residue of the hair care products that you use.
It soothes the irritated scalp and thus reduces itchiness.
Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein, vitamin C, potassium and iron, which help ward off dandruff and reduce the itchiness of the scalp.
The peppermint essential oil in the recipe has soothing properties for the scalp to reduce itchiness and inflammation. It can also boost hair growth by reducing the dandruff flakes that block hair follicles on the scalp.
Things you’ll need:
- Rosewater – enough to make a paste
- Ground fenugreek powder – 1 tablespoon
- Peppermint essential oil – 4 or 5 drops
Step 1. Mix the three ingredients together
- Put 1 tablespoon of ground fenugreek powder in a bowl and add enough rose water to make a thick paste.
- If the paste is too runny, add more ground fenugreek powder. If it seems too thick, add a few drops of rose water to loosen it up.
- Add 4 or 5 drops of peppermint essential oil.
- Mix all the ingredients well.
Step 2. Apply the mixture to your scalp & massage it
- Partition your hair into sections and apply the paste a little at a time onto the scalp, either using an applicator brush or your fingers.
- Massage the paste on the scalp and let it sit for 40 minutes.
- Wash out the paste. You may have to shampoo your hair more than once to get the paste out completely.
- After washing your hair, spray a mist of rose water on it while still damp.
Use this remedy once every 2 weeks for best results.
Method 3: Leave-In Hair Conditioner
As your hair is subjected daily to harmful chemicals and environmental pollutants, it needs some TLC from time to time. This serum will repair and rejuvenate your hair and make it look thicker, smoother, and shinier.
Rosewater increases the blood circulation to the scalp, which in turn provides more nutrients and revives the hair follicles.
The coconut oil, lavender essential oil, and geranium essential oil in the recipe work together to deeply moisturize the scalp and control the excess oil produced by the scalp, which also promotes hair growth.

Method 4: Dry & Frizzy Hair Smoother
Dry and frizzy hair looks disheveled, even if you’ve combed it twice. Rosewater helps hydrate the hair and make it more manageable. It also helps maintain the pH level of the hair and deeply moisturizes it.

It’s also rich in flavonoids and vitamins that increase blood circulation to the scalp, activating hair follicles, which promotes hair growth.
The aloe vera in this recipe has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and helps eliminate the possible microbes present in the scalp.
