Can we stop with all the stereotyping, please?

We are lazy. We are a narcissist. We are entitled. We get it! We are the absolute worst! If we got a dollar for every time we got criticized by people of another generation, we would be rich! Here are some of the things that we are tired of hearing:
Contents
1. “You are always on your phone!”

We have been hearing this for about a decade now and are seriously tired of hearing it. Besides, what else are we supposed to be doing when everything that we need to do can be done on the phone itself! Lol!
2. “Why are you a vegetarian, vegan, or always dieting? Why always so serious about your food?”

We are not too serious about our food. We are just trying to stay healthy and fit. Most of us try to treat our body like a temple. We are just more careful about what we eat sometimes than older generations. However, we do still have cheat days to enjoy “not-so-healthy” food once in a while.
3. “I had a job by your age. You’re just lazy.”

Older generations often had an easier time getting a job right after high school or college that would be thought of as a career for life. However, these days, those "career jobs" are tough to get because of increasing competition. We are also very ambitious which sometimes has us often changing careers or starting a business in pursuit of our dreams or dream jobs. So this often causes our progress to be delayed a little more while we figure it out.
4. “You need to get married.”

No offense, but we will get married when we WANT to! It really bothers us when you criticize us for something as personal as this. We are happy with the life that we are living. Even if we aren't, then marriage isn't going to solve that. We often want to enjoy our life and get more established in our careers and finances before we get married.
5. “You all are so cynic”

We often have a good reason for that. The entire world is a little screwed up! The national debt, the worldwide recession, and post-secondary education costing an arm and a leg are just a few things that taint our view of the world right now.

That’s how our generation connects - professionally, socially, and academically. For us, it is an invaluable tool. You cannot separate our generation from social media.
